The 15 Minute Workout
Getting to the gym everyday can be tough. While it is important to stick to your workout plan and fit in full length workouts following weight loss surgery in North Florida, these four exercises make it possible to get a full body workout on days that a long gym trip just isn’t going to work.
- Lunges: Lunges are a great way to work out your leg muscles without having to change into your sweat pants. To do lunges, find a long hallway that you can do laps up and down. Start by standing straight with your hands at your sides and take a step forward with your left leg. Once your foot is planted, bend your left knee until it reaches a 90-degree angle. Hold your kneeled stance for about five seconds before standing up again and repeating the activity with your right leg. Do 10 to 20 repetitions of this exercise, alternating legs with each rep.
- Cow and Cat: To do this exercise, get down on your hands and knees and arch your bad with your head facing forward. Hold this stance for ten seconds before then reversing your pose and rounding your back into a hump. Continue to alternate between these two poses, completing 10 to 20 repetitions of this exercise.
- Plank: This exercise is an alternative to traditional sit-ups. Lie on your stomach on the floor and lean your body weight onto your forearms. Slowly rise up onto your toes and strengthen your body like a plank. Repeat this activity 10 times. This exercise is a great workout for your abdominal muscles.
- Arm Crosses: Find a space that is clear of obstruction where you can spread your arms completely. Flex your wrists as if you were pushing at an invisible wall and stretch your arms until they are extended behind your back. Hold your arms still behind your back for 30 seconds, and then slowly return your arms to your side. Repeat this activity 20 times.
